No egg sac.. personally I avoid buying fish still with egg sacs. So far the lil' guy seems to be doing great. Most the day he hangs out in the floating plants, and at dusk he cruises all around the tank like speedy gonzales. I haven't actually seen him eat anything, but he deffinately nips at the guppies. and the babies that had dropped are all gone. I also got lucky and one of my female sailfin mollies dropped about 100 fry yesterday. So I've been netting out any I can and tossing them into the tank. He neither looks fat 'nore does he seem to be getting skinnier. So I can only hope he's eating them up. atm the tank is about 80 deg. I did do a cautionary 1/4 dos of melafix and pima fix yesterday, to avoid any chance of infection hopefully. I also plan on doing 25% wc's every 3rd day and plan on doing them every other day if they don't seem to stress him out to much. I don't plan on dosing the tank again unless I see signs of infection ect, which I haven't.
he's already pretty much fearless and will come right up to my fingers when I feed the guppies. I tried some frozen blood worms which he promptly spit out. atm I'm encouraging him to associate my hand with food, but don't plan on hand-feeding in the future. I like my fingers. lol
The tank is still on high alert.. but hopefully he'll double in this next month and take the larger guppies so I can rest easy. >.< I'm also planning on trying frozen brine shrimp, and if those fail and he seems to be getting skinny.. I'll suck it up and make the drive to procure live black worms. either he's not eating, or just picking abit at stuff.. or he has a very high metabolism at this size.
Anyone else have an suggestions or tips for me to give this guy the best odds?
