Aba Aba Knife!

I had an aba for almost 13 yrs. It was about 28 " long in 100 gal tank.
Very entertaining, as it would carry things around in its mouth.

I had to place the heater in a pvc pipe, because it kept breaking them.

First I thought it was just being friendly as it would swim up to my hand... that is until it drew blood.

Some day I'll get another... if I can find one.
 
I also bought the same size as yours then in an month it became around 4 inches. I want it to be a fatty and grow fast up to maybe 10 inches. They are cool.

hey guys, anyone have more info on this kind of fish?
i recently got mine. it was given to me by my cuz and i dont know anything about it.
can anyone help me research about it?

Mine only eats massivor. I offer it shrimp and tilapia and it's ignored. Not a bad problem to have right? It's in a 180 all by itself and it moved large pieces of drift wood around and piles rocks. It's constantly rearranging the tank.
 
They tend to be really aggressive and vicious. They are almost blind and move a bit like an electric eel. They'd take shots at fishes they sense:/ i was able to keep mine big with a big silver arowanas and a gator gar until my gar decided to attack in randomly. It survived but never tolerated other tankmates. it killed 2 8inch oscars and a 16 GG.
