aba's tail was bitten off

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
mine lost about an inch of tail to the end of the dorsal fin and IT DID grow back. You could not even tell where the new tissue grew. I also have a SA lungfish that had about two to three inches bitten off to the just past anus and that grew back too. On him you can definatly tell the color is off but he has a full tail. Some fish have the ability to regenerate others don't.

i had a rbp tail get bitten off and it never grew back.....couple week later the rest of the rbp at em

who bit the tail off the aba aba though? its tough to say if it will, its depends on how much of it was taken out but since its still young there might still be a chance of it growing back..

I have some suspicions but i think it was a 3" coal grunter. but nothing in the tank is really showing any aggression. the last coal grunter i had was mean as hell but this one doesn't bother anything. i think a fish just saw a little skinny tail sticking out and bit down.

When that aba grows up, he will get his revenge! :FIREdevil

Many plants will tolerate 1 tbs of salt per five gallons but melafix is supposed to be good for that type injury as well. What bit it and can you separate them.
yeah , however if the fish is important to you, than move it to a tank by itself an nurse it back to heath, I have an Gymnarchus as well ,drop me a line for any advice that you're willing to follow thru with
