With puffers just feed a wide varied diet and you cant go wrong! My abei absolutely adores earthworms (i order mine from net to ensure no pesticides etc). Also eats cockle out of shell, snails, bloodworm, etc. Yours does look healty to begin with so hopefully will try many foods for you as he settles in further.

Do you keep your earthworms alive or freeze them and defrost in tank water? Id like a link to where you got them if you have one. I wanna get a little frozen buffet together for him that will last me awhile once he does start taking food more regularly. I was also debating a ten gallon tank to breed snails in to try on him once he gets a bit more comfortable taking what I hand him. He does look quite healthy. Plump little belly, always moving around even if its glass surfing, and his eyes are always wandering and staring me down when I get near.

Gotcha. I was like Im confused. Oh and Im a guy haha. And thanks for the name suggestion. Thats kinda what I thought you were getting at. And jeez dont attack so quickly hahaha. Both of us are apparently a little crazy. ;)

eh I don't attack, it just comes off feisty sometimes, sorry again on the gender. :D

For earthworms I just go to walmart to the hunting/fishing section and get a cup of worms from them. Toss them in the fridge to help keep them alive longer(or so im told). And feed them alive.

Krill is about the only food that is harmful that you wouldnt know is harmful.
Why wait to start the 10g. Its going to take a few months to get a big enough population to supply your puffer. And you dont have to wait for them to take food from your hand, you can just toss them in and they will hunt them down. And thats really cool to watch, they will darken up for hunting camo and slowly cruise the tank looking in every little spot for the snails. I always drop 7-8 at once and make sure he see's 1 or 2 and then he starts hunting for the rest
