could you get some other pics? maybe some without flash?

I am not 100% sure this is L114, might just be my screen though...

i'll try and get some more...its such a cute little fish hehe.
very certain its L114...

the tail is pure orange. love it.

depends how you look at what l-114 is, planet catfish states there are two leopard cactus plecos, L-114 being Pseudacanthicus cf. leopardus and L-600 being "true" Pseudacanthicus leopardus, datz doesnt officially recognize L-600, but i own both types, and the L-600 is definatly alot different than L-114, L-600 variant is alot more bulk, spines and attitude, along with different head spotting and a different background coloring, my l-114 reminds me more of my l-29 in shape and perfers to hide for the most part, i guess the biggest difference is the red/orange tails between the two, my l-600 has retained almost a fully orange tail with some base coloring leaching, while my l-114 has mainly red on the exterior parts of the tail fin, by the look of your pic you own the l-600 variant and looks like he can be a rowdy pleco, i keep both of my Pseudacanthicus with a L-191 royal and they dont seem to bother him too much, they are housed in a 75g

exactly :D

looks in this picture like a LDA07 Pseudacanthicus leopardus, that's why I asked for additional pictures.

Would be even better, I'd say, much rarer and more expensive ;)

ahhhh i remember now of the L600...
dont think this guy is that one, which is good and bad.
good because i do recall how cactus-esque they look (badass but ive read stories of blood being drawn everytime the fish comes in)
bad because...well, that's the "true" one.

still a cute little bugger though :headbang:

Ok, to clarify: L114 for sure, sorry for the mix-up. The colours were altered by my monitor. Very nice specimen anyway, a lot of orange in the tail!

Thanks! he's pretty timid since there are many guppies buzzing around him all the time...
but he seems fine.

can't wait till he grows!!!

i guess if you want to check for a quick reference, snookin21 has two different L-114's in stock on aquabid, one wild caught from brazil which is your more common pseudacanthicus cf. leopardus and the other L-114,"true" pseudacanthicus leopardus being wild caught from guyana(L-600 variant) you can aslo see the L-114 from guyana is a bit pricier, since l-600 isnt official both are still considered l-114 to most, i kept both variants over the past two years and both being males and with my two i eyes i see what should be two seperate species, the difference between the two really take shape after they attain 5 inches regardless both of them are very attractive, but from my expierience pseudacanthicus cf. leopardus is timid, shy, and easier to keep with other bottom dwellers where as pseudacanthicus leopardus are territorial and dont play nice, i would also like to add that pseudacanthicus leopardus are on par with the L-160 in looks and temperment as far as aggresion, L-160 to me is the most aggressive pleco of them all, wish i could find one, good friend of mine wont let his go even after it wiping out a bunch of other plecs, cats, etc

well, as an update:

he hides under that small piece of wood that i have in the 30L for him.
defends his area from the menacing comet thats twice his size :P

im pretty sure he's eating too, sinking cichlid gold is always gone in a hr or so.
...gonna switch to sinking carnivore pellets and maybe bloodworms once i have my dats...

will the L114 eat bloodworms?

Mine eats EVERYTHING and a lot. Don't worry about him not eating, rather the opposite ;)
