AC 110 question

I am thinking of adding a AC 110 to my tank and I have 4.5 inches clearance from the back of my tank to the wall. Is that enough?
 
I just put one on a tank for a friend... I don't thinks enough.... but its close... can you move the tank out a little...?

I have one on my 50g and I have just a little more than 4.5" clearance. It's a little difficult to get the filter off of the tank and back on sometimes. As long as you don't have a canopy you should be fine.

Hmm sounds like it will too tight, I dont want it touching the wall. I hate to move my tank, not sure I could even move it. I was wanting mainly to add some more mechanical and I thought the ac 110 would be easy to clean the sponges. I guess i could fill my xp3 with filter floss instead.
 
I just measured and I have 4.75" from the tank to the wall. I have at least a half inch to move the filter to level it.
 
You could just go with a sponge filter attached to a power head to add more mechanical filtration. They work great.

thanks, I measured the other end of my tank and I got 4.75 there :headbang2
 
one more question, if I make it all for mechanical can you add more sponges or something like filter floss to it,,,any mods?
