ac 110

You may have air caught at the top of the tube (where it runs horizontal). I didn't have my leveler clip (on the bottom) set right once and it did that on high. Also make sure you've got the tube seated all the way on top of the impellor inside the filter.

so i should mess with the leveler and if that dont fix it, then take it out and make sure the tube is seated? how would i get the air out?

ok i figured it out, but when i turn it on max flow rate, it makes a clicking noise. whats the problem? if its all the way to the right (low) it clicks also, if its in middle its fine.

Check and make sure the steel impellar shaft is seated all the way into the motor housing.

Right. The air will come out by itself if the leveler is the problem.
I'm leaning towards it not being seated right. Do what guys do-mess with it lol

for people who have used a ac 110 on a 55 gal. did it blow your sand around? i dont even have my ac 110 on max flow because it clicks, but it has made a hole in my sand, piled a lot of the sand up around the tank lol, i dont mind it, i just level the sand out, but is it ok for this to happen? right now it blows my fish to the bottom if they swim under it, but then again they are all very small right now. i couldnt imagine this filter on max flow rate in a 55 :P

perhaps your water level is a bit low? I have had AC110's on 55's and AC70's on 20 longs (only 12 inches tall) and as long as your tank water is topped up, the current blows across the top of the water rather than downward, so it shouldn't mess up your substrate, esp. on a 20 inch tall 55.

try filling up your tank to just under the bottom lip of the trim.

that should solve the problem even at the high flow..
