or if you go the ebay route, they go for around $60 pretty regularly. if you contact a seller who has them new, they will usually cut you a deal if you buy more than one.

No. If you click on the link to petnotsosmart it is the AC30 for 38 bucks. Typically you can find AC110's for 60-70 bucks. I have been watching a local forum for some deals on used ones. Want to eventually switch to all AC110's for my 55's, 75's and 90's.
 
Had two bad experience with AC but if I had to do a HOB ill go with marineland bio wheel. They use them at my LFS and the water stays crispy and all the fish from there is always in great conidition!!
 
I like the mechanics of the AC better, but I love toying with the Emp, its so easy to modify.
