full sponge, and 4 bags of bio specifically for the ac110 fits great and everything is fully submerged.

2 bags of bio side by side on top of sponge, then 2 more bags on top of first bags.

I dont see how thats possible...I am not saying that you are full of it though!

I have a few ac110's all of mine just barely fit what came with it.
1-sponge
1- bag of bio
1- bag of carbon.

Though I dont use carbon in my tanks so I have 2 bags of bio in each filter and the sponge, and they barely fit...there is now way I could fit another bag of bio, let alone 2!!!

Have to agree with brianjh. I just bought a AC110 on saturday and could barely get the 1-sponge, 1- bag of bio, 1- bag of carbon to fit.
You got post pictures of how you cramped that all in.

Have to say in just 2 days I'm already in love with the thing. Cleared my 55 up real quick. I had a tetra whisper on it and that thing was anything but a whisper, it was louder then all hell.
 
Mine came with the same: sponge, carbon and Bio-Max. I could barely fit it all in too!
 
this may cost a little more but i usualy add ac 70 replacement carbon u can fit 4 in and they fit better than the ballooning affect of the 110's carbon... or u could get a filter bad and add your own carbon to your liking the versatility comes in its stack form allowing you to add bags or sponges ive even seen scrubbies used but i personaly like the quad 70 carbon
 
hmmm, since i got my filter used perhaps the sponge has been cut? anyways heres a pic, i usually run 4 bags of bio, but i have a bag of purigen replacing one bag of bio right now.

Your sponge looks to be stock size. The bags of bio are not stock for AC110 though.
