Ac110?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They work pretty well on my 125. But not worth $90. I paid $20 a piece for my 3. I got them barely used when I bought my 125 gallon.

nice ill suck it up and get em for the 39.99 at petsmart

I did the same thing at Petsmart, I bought the new EMP400 but they are junk compared to the older EMP400 so I returned it and got the AC110. I like the AC110 alot better than the New EMP400. I have the AC110 running along side an older model of the EMP400 on my 80gal growout tank.

AC is king of HOB. Think it isn't? Meet me in the parking lot.

They are great filters. I have over a dozen, and of all them in the last 2 years I have replaced 3 impellers and 4 impeller shafts. Only reason for those were sand and crushed coral eating them up.....lesson learned.

Sand is sick, its worth it to replace an impeller here n there...for the looks of sand

The clerk didn't appear to look for a date... just verified that it was the same item and has a manager approve the override. They keep the copy you bring them... but it is really no problem... they advertise price matching. I try to use their webite if I can. Not sure why.... just seems more ethical.

So im going to get the AC110 Friday when I go home, it was listed on the PETSMART website for 39.99 on sale.. i printed out the pages for the price matching, and now its not on the website anywhere.. or atleast i cannot find it.

You think i should be able to still get the AC110 for 39.99 as long as the store has it in stock? i hope so...

I think they will honor it for a certain period of time afterwards. if not you could always order one online for roughly the same price.
You wont be disappointed with that filter, in fact im sure youll only buy AC HOB's after you try the 110.
I find if you turn the filter off during vaccuming and if your intake is 4" or higher off the ground you shouldnt have too much of a problem with sand, that is of course unless you got some real dirt kicker fish.

I put sand substrate in my snail breeder, and I could hear it getting sucked into the impeller. I am sure new parts are needed for me soon, but you are right, the sand is very cool.
