Wow cool.. Nice..:)

LOL That's how that goes..

Sorry to hear it's still such an issue. Participation at first would have been low but in years after building up a club base that contained more hybrid owners(either current members who bought/bred hybrids or new members who have hybrids but appreciate pure blood as well) it could have done quite well. IMO.

Even without the class at the show just a stance more about education of responsible breeding and a more positive stance on FH's and where they fit in the hobby would be cool.

Very progressive move. I'm surprised.

That was pretty predictable.Discussions about hybrids usually turn into flame wars on sites dedicated to cichlids.

I only read the cliff notes from a couple of forums, but yea from what I read/heard.......they first allowed the hybrids(when they were talking mad crap about hybrids in the past), because the discus were out of the group, and they needed something else to replace it to allocate their market. Now I guess the "true breed" lovers were raising their voices and giving beef and they were afraid of actually losing much more participants rather than allowing hybrids to participate to get more profit:screwy:

Also, I personally think that those who give bad reps about "hybrids" are those ones with ugly ass basic hybrids(pure breed x pure breed) or very low grade flowerhorns.

This is probably the best thing that could happen. The faithful at the ACA are beyond passionate about this subject. Since they are the ones who donate the most time and money, loosing them would have been too painful for the host organization to take. There were all kinds of threats of leaving or not participating in the ACA by many members if the hybrid class was allowed. Sadly, this strong-arm tactic worked.
