Acceptable Red Devil tank mates?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you have an extremely aggressive devil, the only suitable tankmate may be the largest pet rock you can find. Let him him try to kill that all he wants.

If it's true RD then def. no tankmates.Might be possible with mix or Midas but need 125 or larger tank

i have a pair of devils male 10" female 7" in a 180g with 8"male hartwegi,7"female synspillum,7"male fenestratus,7"male blackbelt and some smaller centrals all living happily together.so there is hope yet.

well sure there'd be hope if his tank was 180 gallons like yours ;) however he has a 55 gallon and in that size tank any tankmates with a rd will probably be killed very quickly. i'd keep the red devil alone in there for sure..no catfish, no dithers just give him a big cave to call home and he'll be ok. a 75 gallon would be much better for the rd in the long run but the 55 will do..he'll just be kinda cramped. the best thing you could do would be to start putting back a little bit of money each month and in a year or so get him a 75 gallon and then you can re-stock the 55 with something else. ;) :D
