Accidentally became a poly owner, HELP!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If you were keeping just the two bichirs, a 40g breeder (shorter and wider 40g tank) would suffice.

I have to warn you about the type of cave you picked. A buddy of mine had a similar type of enclosed cave and his endli loved it, but because it had to contort itself to get in there, it's spine grew with a kink in it.

If you give bichirs a hiding spot, it should be low to the ground and wide, and open on both sides, more of an upside down half pipe.

I use driftwood with that sort of feature.

NO HEATER:confused:

^ Had a heater but then it just stopped working :screwy: .... I'm gonna get a new one by friday the latest when I can get off work finally.

Thanks for letting me know about the cave, it actually opens on the other end you just can't see it because of the angle. Although I do agree with you he does sort of contort himself to move around in there if he wants to get from one side to the other. It's large enough for him now but when he gets a little bigger I'll upgrade him to some drift wood.

Once you do driftwood make sure you soak it to get the tannins out or your water will end up looking like tea and takes many water changes to get it to go away.

But then again, some fish (and people) love their water that way!

Make sure you can keep you water in the mid or high 70s

I would go for a 40 breeder or a 55 then you could get a few polys and a pike try and get a 75 though just as long as a 55 but wider the bigger the floor space the better for polys

nice fish it kinda looks like an albino dragon goby
