I got home yesterday after work to find that my ACF was lying on his back under water - presumably dead. I watched for another moment as he tried to 'do a sit up' and failed. He was flailing his front arms but unable to move his rear legs. I pulled him up to the surface and he began breathing very hard, as I'm sure he hadn't been able to breath for quite some time. I searched online for possible causes/cures of whatever ails him but all I could find were suppositions and guesses. Some people said they were prone to strokes and seizures, which could potentially cause dysfunction of his rear legs.
If anyone has had any experience with this or has any advice, please post it.
Also, and I hate to ask this... but what is the best way to euthanize my frog? I really don't want to, but I can't care for him if he is paralyzed for the rest of his life.
Thank you.
