Acrylic Thickness for a 360

Thicker is always better, but if the seams look ok I don't think you should stress. I had a 24" tall Truvu tank that was made out of 3/8" and it didn't bow at all. Not sure how they do it. On the filp side, I've seen a 30" Tall tank made out of 1/2" that bowed so much I was scared standing in front of it. It was 10 feet long-, a 30" tall tank should definitely be made of at least 3/4" but a tank's length does affect how thick the acrylic should be. No offense to the previous poster, but while height is the more important factor, length also plays a role in the thickness that should be used.

If it make you feel better. I have a 300G (96"L x 30"H) that is 1/2" and it holds without issue and has for years before I ever owned it. I'd say you'll be just fine.

Call other manufacturers and ask them how thick there glass is. Try Glass Cages.

There should be info in the DIY Tanks area. Check the stickies.

my 26" high tank bows like no ones business with 1/2 I would have shelled out another couple hundred to go with 3/4 if they gave me the option and i knew better at the time.

Yeah, my 300 bows pretty good. But you'll have bowing with any size acrylic unless you seriously over do it.

mine is not the same but 7x2x2 and it bows about half an inch horizontally across the center. I am always afraid my tank will pop I check the seems like once a month, I have never owned acrylic before so this bowing is new to me and as you said kinda unsettling. Plus mine is less then 2' from where I sleep, but I can say this I abused my tank by having it on a failed stand unknowingly it caused some crazy crazing, and its still holding up strong, so I would say its fine if you can live with the bowing.
