Or maybe you should carefully re-read what I said and what you yourself highlighted in red:

"Take pride in knowing that by even being a member of this site and knowing of this and other similar resourcesyou already have at your fingertips more knowledge than any average LFS employee, and be happy"

What I meant to say was in defense of LFS employees. By garnering the knowledge and the man-decades of experience in the aquarium hobby from many knowledgable people on this forum, we will already know MORE than any single person may know (unless they are also actively involved in these forums and the hobby, and most people are not)...

So, my point, again, was to stop expecting that some random kid working in a store will know everything that we may know or may be able to find out by browsing MFK and reading about people's experiences.

Now here's $2 to buy yourself some reading glasses. :p
Perhaps keep the $2 bucks for some lessons yourself. Saying that being on this forum makes you more knowledgable than someone else is not in defense of said person. Maybe use those glasses yourself and learn some of that knowledge that you so highly tout instead of being on here trying to make yourself feel important.

Theres a big salt LFS near me that only highers highschool girls with big breasts. The good ones say,"I dunno, leeme find out." The dumb ones say,"Sure, he's yellow and goes great with blue fish!"
i tried to find a pic of Bree Turner in Deuce Bigalow, but I couldn't. you know, the girl at the store that got the feeders :grinno:

I've acted "dumb" a few times. I actually got an RTC from Petsmart a long time ago for $1.63 because it was in a tank marked "Anesus Cory" There wasn't a price on the RTC so I asked the guy out of curiosity how much was "that catfish" and when he told me it was an Anesus Cory and it was $1.63, I couldn't resist. I asked how big will it get and he told me the "Cory" gets as big as a Pleco and showed me with his hands the potential size of 6" I went back the next day and saw more RTCs and I was really curious on the actually price so I asked another person and she told me $32.99.

hahaha i bet the manager is a major pervert. hot is relative though, im sure chubby chasers would say fat girls are hot. i personaly hate blonde girls and prefere asian girls so u never really know what "hot" is.

it brought to my mind the image from deuce bigalo male jigalo where the woman gets the clam things from the tank and the ends of her boobs dip in the tank so he asks for the ones at the bottom =P

p.s DETHKLOK =D

Score lol, i bet that it ate $32.99 in food :grinno:

i haver acted dumb to guage how truthful employees are. like "will an O go in a bi orb with guppies ok for life and maybe room for a few corydoras later on down the line?"
its not to humiliate the staff or make me feel better but to get a feel for the shops quality. if the answer to the above question is "yes" or "yes but you will need a 3ft tank to house them all eventually but the guppies will be fine" then i leave and dont go back.
a good shop will have staff that will look at you in horror and try to correct your wrong way of thinking by educating you that fish dont grow to the tank and guppies will be an all you can eat buffet for O's.

has anyone ever acted stupid at a lfs just to see if the associates know their stuff? just curious, sometimes it proves useful though. anyone else?
if i may quote my very first words on here, thats what im getting at. i just think its a good way to gauge if they are reputable or not. yes i realize that i already know the correct answer when i walk into the store, but is there really a better way? not trying to act like i know it all, cuz i dont, really no one does.

If you want better knowledge of fish from a fish store, your going to be paying alot more then what the prices are now. I manage a store and I know my ****. But there really isnt anyone as qualified as me that wants to scrub algae and do water changes for 8 bucks and hour. I get the type of person that is a "know it all" everyonce and awhile but usually it is just some dumb kid that read a few post on a online fish forum and wants to think he know more them me. So just lay off the high school kid thats working a summer job and get you own knowledge about what pets you want. If you want to know what a employe knows about fish, just ask. There is no need to play games. If the employee is lieing you can usually pick that up in about 2-3 sentences and go from there.

do you just have extra time at the LFS or you just trying to prove you may or may not know a little more than somebody else...........just curious
