Active Catfish for a 55 gallon???

I am in nearly the same boat as you are. I am getting ready to buy a 48 gallon tank and am wondering if the below fish would do well in it. I don't know much about it other than it is a synodontis of some kind. I am trying to identify it a little better, if you know anything about it.

Thats a nice syno.... I've decided to go with a pictus cat, I bought a nice patterened one yesterday. Will have some pics of him soon, his purchase came with a true four line pictus.... will rehome him. I am getting another pictus monday with java fern,

Synodontis longirostris. One of the larger synos getting some 20-22"
Too big for a 48 gallon

I think you are refering to sydontis eurptis?
