Opinions on acupuncture? anybody ever try it before? Thoughts?

Never had it done but it makes sense to an extent. Nothing mystical or anything but for mundane things. By stimulating certain nerve clusters you can trick your body into doing things it might not otherwise, or at an accelerated rate.

I had it done for whiplash. I've also tried auricular acupuncture. The auricular acupuncture did not make any difference in my peace of mind. The acupuncture I rec'd for whiplash worked quite nicely except for once when he hit the wrong spot with the needle.

it most likely depends on what you are getting acupuncture for. it also has similar results to a placebo, but sometimes that's all people need.

*never had it done by the way.

I've had accupuncture for treating muscle tension as well as stress, and found it helpful for both. The more profound effect was for the muscle tension.

A good friend of mine(my lead guitar player) had acupuncture for believe it or not, to quit smoking. He hasn't had a smoke for 4 years:headbang2. He said it worked great--it did the trick. I don't know how or why..but it worked for him.

Peace,
Chris

i had it done on my knee, it was amazing how skill fully they insert the needles.. how nothing hurts or even feels the tiny bit uncomfortable.. yet you look at all these needles sticking out of your skin... and yes it did help lesson the pain..

gah i can barely get a flu shot... signing up for lots of needles...
