thats should be ok, doing water change mainly help lower the water temperature which helps to reduce aggression. keep an close eye for few days and good luck

their color changes depends on mood stress level, surrounding, etc.
 
Mine seem to lose their redness later at night, I always wondered why.... does anyone know the reason? I know when they turn black it could be a sign of breeding
 
wow that would be awesome if they bred! I've dumped quite a few $'s on these guys..It would be nice to get some $ back on my investment...but how old are they when they breed? I have 6 females and 5 males ( so I was told from my dealer)....
 
they tend to loose color when they go to sleep (turn pale) and gain it back once they are awake.
also turning dark doesn't 100% means ready to breed. but when they are ready to breed they do turn dark.
they usually ready to breed after about a year. maybe a bit sooner or a bit later, each fish is a little different.
