I am currently housing a 12" florida gar alone in a 4' 120g tank. He is doing great. I may pick up another 12" florida gar and a 6" bichir. These should all get along together, right?

Thanks.

I don't know about bichirs, though I've heard they are good tankmates for gars. But the gars should get along fine -- I've got 3 and they were added one after another, and all do fine now together.

it's a great combination. gar always seem to bond with one another, rather than fight one another and the bichir will be fine with them. my two floridas are best buds and my senegal ignores all of his tankmates. he's a loner.

youll get some fin nipping and shredding but they will be fine. they heal fast

Okay - now it looks like I will pick up another gar also. So the stock for the 120g will be 3 alligator gars (12", 12", 14") and a 6" bichir.

3 Florida gars or 3 ALLIGATOR gars as your post says? 3 Floridas would work just fine...3 gators is an extremely unwise decision.--
