I think that silacone would be the safest but it does not have the bonding strength of epoxy or glue but it's best for plants and other light weight ornaments.

it wouldnt need to be particularly strong, just enough to hold something in place

I'm pretty sure I know what Davo has up his sleeves. He is trying to hide the pvc, and with plecos the slate more than likely won't stay in place for very long.

yea got some pvc pipes to cut in half so the edges will be roughed up. i will block the one end, and have a piece of slate on the top, as a roof. just for aesthetics really. once they are done they are done and can be used many a time

ok. are there any places i can get this other than a lfs, that might be cheaper like a hardware/ diy shop
cheers

Your local hardware store should have it. Not sure if the brand names are the same but, GE silicone I is what I use. Several of my hardware stores in town have "aquarium silicone" as well.

As long as it is 100% silicone, and has no additives, ESPECIALLY the mildew resistance or bioseal, or anything like that.

Did you see my marble one (white one)? I'm going to be putting it into their tank today. It only cost $10 for that one, but then again mine get way too big for the PVC available in this area.
