well I don't know if it's a green terror or a gold saum, but I know she's a beauty! She's pretty hurt and my bud at petco is closing down a few of his own tanks, so I decided to take her in! I also have been looking and preparing for a GTC, so bonus! She's really small, I only had a 2.5 corner view for her, I'm moving like next week so my parents aren't letting me pick up and set up a 55 from my friend as a growout. I do want to know if it's a gold saum or green terror, and I also want to know if it's a male or a female. The guy that gave her to me said it's a green terror hybrid female, though I'm getting a gold saum vibe. How can it be called adoption if you're being charged any money? That would just make it buying, am I right?

true, I mean she was x2 the size of the ones they usually sell, and she was a bit less than half their price, so I'd say either a good deal or it was just an 'adoption fee'.
 
No, the only animals I've owned came from either a pet store, the wild (couple lizards a few years back plus a cat), or from someone on an online forum.
 
Gold Saum is a Green Terror. There are also Silver Saums, again GTs also. Only difference is the color on their dorsal/tail fins. Gold Saum have the orangeish/Gold tips/seam. Silver Saum has white tips/ seams.

Oops, just looked it up and it turns out the fish I was thinking of was aequidens pulcher. Do you know if it's a blue acara or GT though?

Like yours you can see the false eye right at the base of it's tail. Also like yours you can see all the green scales.

Here is an Blue Acura. They are close cousins to GTs.20180810_120849.jpg
Here you can see no false eyespot. Also body don't have the green scales.
