I am planning the setup of my new Amazon River tank which will be about 3,000 gallons to house a few redtail, tiger shovelnose cats, arowana, pacu, etc. Tank is currently under production (with Custom Midwest Aquarium - Chris Boelke is the man) and I've picked out the equipment I want to use--all closed-circuit aquaculture filtration/sterilization/temp control. I was hoping someone could recommend a good aquaculture system plumber/installer in the Massachusetts/Rhode Island area (I live in Providence, RI). The job is too big for me to do all the plumbing myself in the amount of time I have between now and when I want to have it up and running. Any recommendations would be appreciated!

You can ask around at landscaping places, or something like Angie's list for an independent plumber, a true tradesman plumber should be competent enough to plumb an albeit large fish tank. You should be able to explain how you want it done and a good plumber can get it done. Cost on custom plumbing might be ludicrous high but your getting custom 3000g tank so your probably accustomed to that.

Curious what equipment you are planning to use for your closes circuit filtration, sterilization, and temp control.

Thanks for your interest. The tank is not built yet. Midwest is going to assemble it in my home after the pieces are built. FRP shell with acrylic viewing panels. I will make sure to post pictures when it's done.

Thanks that's a good idea. I might just do that unless someone knows of a good specialist.

Planning to use two AST polygeyser 6 bead filters, several large bag filters on a bypass loop, and a bunch of pentair equipment including their giant hot/cold heat pump, a 600 watt uv, and one of their bead filters which I will hook on permanent backwash in order to create a fluidized bed bio-filter.

How do you plan to stock the tank? Do you have a bunch of tanks already? What kinda fish do you plan to stock the tank with?

We currently have 6 tanks running (20, 55, 80, 80, 180, 500). We have a 3 foot redtail, 3 foot arowana, 2.5 foot redtail/tiger shovelnose hybrid, a smaller platinum redtail, albino pacu. Those ones will be in the 3,000 gallon plus a few more that we want to get but don't have space for now (TSN, peacock bass, clown knife, etc.)

FRP is fiberglass right? I didn't realize that they do those types of tanks. Just curious but is that lighter than acrylic? What is the price ratio to acrylic? Like half the price? Really curious as I am looking into fiberglass also.
