if you only need corrective aids for reading, sewing etc then i think contacts may be a bit of a waste of time and money for you.
if your glasses keep slipping off then get a sports band for glasses, model makers use them if they need glasses and so do squash players that use eye protection.

i have friends that wear both.... somethimes they prefer there glasses over contacts or vice versa....
