Hi guys...

I used to own a black Piranha a couple of years ago but I basically got bored of it because it was so slow growing and always hid from view... However, I always preferred Serrasalmus manueli and have been waiting for an opportunity to come along for a while now. That time is fast approaching with a reliable importer bringing one in within the next few weeks...

So I'm now looking for advise on keeping these guys happy. Looking forward to your input and help :)

Sorry I personally couldn't help. The only thing I know is they require pristine water conditions and never being shy lol.

Similar to Rhoms, the personality will heavily vary based on the fish. Sometimes you get super aggressive, and sometimes they arent. I have been told they tend to show their aggressiveness at around 8in. They grow slow like all Serras. Also, they have a reputation for a lot more sensitive, especially as they get bigger and older. You want to keep optimal conditions and be very careful when moving them as they get bigger.

Beautifull fish with nice colors :) Your manny looks skinny but I'm sure he will put on weight in your tank :)
