They stay shy for a long time and heard that manny's don't really come out of their shell until around 8in. It really is a wait and see game. I had a rhom for 17 years and moved him many times. While never shy, depending on the placement of the tank he would from chilling in the corner to constantly patrolling.
 
I'm planning on doing some tank enhancements to try and help in the near future. ;)

Still have the Mannie? How quickly was growth? Thinking about getting one but it’s more like 3-4” range.
