African cichlids in Hawaii

Human alterations to waterways and pollution has probably done more damage than the invasive species. Case in point the massive fish kill in manoa about 6 years ago from a chemical dump.
Yup! There are more studies on how human activities can change the habitats to a completely different habitat that only few species could survive. Habitat alteration by humans are number #1 threat to endemic fish species.

Are you saying introduced species aren't impacting our native species????
maybe a tiny impact but that's it. Biggest impact will have to be from the human activities.

I would agree degraded stream environments are a bigger threat; however introduced species are a major concern.

So you're just scapegoating introduced species, why am I not surprised? I'd be more concerned about habitat alterations if I were you.

I got ahold of Chris but our time schedules didn't match up. I just shore fished with no luck, then decided to go diving at Turtle cove and horseshoe reef. Great dives with lots of Sea Turtle sightings and close ups. I posted videos in the scuba thread.
