African Giraffe Catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
im currently selling my 55cm girafe catfish for £100 nice looking fish but just doesnt seem to have the personality of a rtc or tsn also got a 15cm 1 who has a much better personality idk why

They are a blast to keep. Mine has a great personality, eats from the hand, his nickname is hoover cause he will eat anything and everything, constantly sifting through the soil looking for food.

Hates the substrate though. Ill even it out and he has to have it down to the bottom.

IMO these cats have way more personality than any shovelnose. never been around a rtc though. but these guys are just awesome fish. true pets

my friend has one and he paid $20 for it about a year ago and he was about 4" and he is now about 12-13" and loves to eat frozenblood worms. he also likes to have all the gravel in his cave and everytime my friend does a cleaning he levels it out but the giraffe moves it all back over night.

i might be getting one on wed, my lfs said he can make a few calls for me and try to get one for me and said it would be about $20 or so but i believe they are worth the price.

since i paid $40 for mine and have seen them as high as 80. yeah 20 is an amazing price for a true pet

i have a 115 gal long tank that he will be going into. it 6'Lx18"Dx20"T so i cant wait to get one and let him take over the bottom. so i hope that that is plenty big for him. ill keep you posted and post some pictures once i get him.

and the middle, top and everywhere in between. these guys are really active catfish. yea sometimes they lay on the bottom but mine swims a lot. especially when they get to know that hand that feeds them, then just walk near the tank and watch it come up and "beg".
