African Tiger Fish or Wolf fish?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have both, but opposite ends of the spectrum: I have a common wolf and a Brevis ATF. LOVE both fish. I've had Chompers, my Mala wolf, longer and I've been able to watch him grown from a viscous 5" fish, to a well respected 12" monster. I will concede that adding a wolf to a community is risky and unwise, but it can be done. I've attached a pic of my 180 tank, and what the group looks like right before I drop I their nightly allotment of market shrimp.

Whichever way you go, you will no doubt be pleased.

Best of luck with your decision!

Edit: not sure why my ATF pics got posted here. Silly iPhone.

Love my black wolf so wolf has my vote. he lives in a comm and is boss of the underworld.

Thanks for the feedback and opinions guys. Looks like I am going to go with a wolf. Anyone know a good vendor or seller to buy from?

G (Shark Aquarium) is a pretty solid bet when it comes to Wolves.....

Kind of depends on which species you're after, but I'd say either G or Wes (Fugupuff aka Rare Fish)

Very cool thanks DB junkie! I am probably start with a common. Would love to get an aimara but can't afford it right now, have a baby on the way.

I agree, preference is everything but I always love hearing the reasons for why people think the way they do about the fish they own.

@kay71 Thanks! It's red spectra quartz, the fine grade. My 180 was my first, true monster tank and I wanted to do something different.
