africans with south americans?

Its true , he might be too aggressive. Is that why the person wants to give him to you in the first place ? Bumble bee is one of the more aggressive species i think.

yes that person has 40-60 africans in a 350g, and the bumblebee is too aggressive so he is willing to give it away. i have two 10" oscars in a 90g, and the bumble bee is the same size. My best bet is that the oscars will stick together and the bumblebee will learn to live with them. i think i will go for it anyway to see what happens because since the umblebee is in a tank overcrowded with fish, he has learned to get along with others. he is too big to hide in rocks so my best bet is that they learn to coexist. any opinions? im gonna do it anyways but just want to hear what you guys think. if anything ive learned that anything is possible with fish, and have had a few tanks that the employess aty petco have said would enver work

If he is that large and so aggressive in a tank with 30 to 40 cichlids in it i think he is gonna shred your oscars. If he was so noticably aggressive in that overstocked tank he will really be able to zero in on the two oscars, there will be very little to distract him. Just my opinion. My two highly aggressive fish i gave to Jhutch ended up working out with some large new world cichlids so i guess it cant hurt to try but i would have a back up plan or isolation tank incase he is too much for the oscars.

Cichlidgirl, is the lily leave from a live plant or fake?

Ps. Cabros (bumblebees) are really tough and will take care of themselves or the Oscars. Watch them, or find another tank for the bee.

Hes not especially aggressive, in all the time I saw him hed occasionaly chase a real small fish and would not chase it long. he mostly minded his own business. I also have a jack dempsey who has a cave he hides in most of the time and a RTC about 12". Do you think hed kill the cat and the JD if the jd hides?

SOUNDS LIKE A REALLY BAD IDEA

mbuna should be kept with other mbuna, i suppose there are exceptions, but i dought this will be one

It would be real likely the bee and jd would fight over the cave. Might want to put more caves in if you go through with getting the bee.

and if they do im putting my money on the bee, easy money lol, if the bumblebee is really the same size as your oscars, the oscars wont stand a chance

If your talking about any plants in my pics then they are all fakes. I dont have any real plants indoors.

I do have a wonderful lilly pads in my outdoor pond but am unsure how to bring part of it into the house to winter with out bringing in any creepy crawlies or parasites with it. I would love to bring some in, thought about maybe a salt water bath/soak for a couple hours , then rinse and put in the tank. Not sure if it would get rid of organic life on it or kill the plant. If anybody has any advice on that PM me so we dont hijack this thread.
