So I have my 6" African Arowana in my 10gal(going into 20/75gal soon) and I put in 50 or so newborn black mollies and its Activly hunting and eating them....I thought they'd only eat little filter feeder stuff but apparently they aren't so big babys...Video/Pics later

your gunna need a much bigger tank then 75, try 250+ and they will eat any fish that will fit in its mouth. and 6" in a 10 gallon, thats already borderline abuse. man, move it now. and straight to the 75 gallon tank. and think about investing into a much larger tank.

x2 but a 240 IMO may be okay for a while depending on dimensions...but u have some time b4 u may need the 240+...but i definitely agree with skipping the 20 gallon

You don't have to attack me by saying I need a bigger tank....I know this once I have my 180/210 that's where he's going and from what I've been told an Afro will have a minimum of 180gals he's going in a 20gal Long on thursday and then the 75gal in two-three weeks....If I add him to the 75gal now he's poly food....And from what I've read/ been told Afros are NOT like any other Aro....and smaller fish can be kept with them/end rant

we arent attacking u we're just suggesting well at least i am...im not trying to attack u at all....idk about the other guy though i speak for myself:D....

whats in the 75 right now? because it would have to be pretty big to make a 6" aro a meal. im not attacking you man, im just giving you proper advise. they are a very active fish and need a large footprint tank so they can swim back and forth while still being able to venture front to back as well. not sure about afro's, but all aros are a carnivoris fish, they will eat anything, pellets, fish, anything edible. and they do jump, so you might want to cover every opening.

sorry if we sounding like we were jumping on your case, but proper care for a fish is a priority and not something that is taken lightly. just remember that.

Telling me that I'm borderline abusive when you dont know the situation.....is rude, anyone that quotes such is in the same boat....I forgive you however trout

dude i was a loss for words when i said abusive, but still, its getting a little on the small side. and an upgrade is due. again, whats in the 75 as we speak?

African Arowanas are filter feeders planktivores not carnivores like other Aros and I have a 16" Endli that has eaten equal sized fish.

Edit: Sorry as I was typing this he ate nearly all 50 of them :(....and the Ornate
