Afro Eating Mollies!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Who told you, you can keep afro aro with small fish. Afro aro use the roof of their mouth and bony tongue to grind up food till they get small pieces. I feed my afro aro with massivore and it's able to eat slowly till the food is grind up to small pieces. Even cut up prawn or fish fillet. Same thing can happen to baby guppies.

x2 its nature that aros eat anything they can. food is scarse in the flooded areas where these fish live.

You didn't expect a fish to eat fish? Alright. Now you know. I can't wait to see that 200g all set up and ready for the aro. This will be great. I've always wanted an afro aro.

yep afros will pretty much eat anything that can fit down its throat... btw watch out, IME, africans are one of the fastest growing fish, so dont be suprised that it might be to big for his current tank in about 6 months or less.

African Arowanas are filter feeders planktivores not carnivores like other Aros and I have a 16" Endli that has eaten equal sized fish.

Edit: Sorry as I was typing this he ate nearly all 50 of them :(....and the Ornate

I was a little surprised when my afaro started hitting the small 2" minnows intended for the trop gars. Now, at over 30", he easily downs 4-5" shiners like they were candy.

im glad you understand this fish now, i hope to see pics like SOON!!

See I'm not crazy oddball was suprised when his was small too

no, but were trying to make sure you don't make the mistake of making it grow to big in a small tank, that's why we are trying to tell you to get it into the 75 gallon tank ASAP! because it does grow fast.
