Look at it this way:
"It's funny to think about it. I wonder what makes the ordinary person different than a fish keeper's mind, walking down the street?"
You said it yourself, Readearsunfish. We are different in the fact that we are not ordinary. WE are a unique group of well rounded people, from all over the world, coming from a melting pot of different backgrounds, dedicated from within ourselve to do something ordinary people don't have either the time patience, or desire to do. Learning from each other in the proper stewardship of the fishes we keep, and to continue and strive to learn from books, magazine articles, journal publications, personal experiences, shared experiences from other MFK members and the list goes on.
But if you stop and look at it, there is a variety of stewards in many different disciplines of animals, birds, reptiles, freshwater and saltwater fishes, wild and domesticated. But, it's our personal choice as to which discipline we chose and we chose to be fishkeeping stewards. Because of this choice, it is now our responsibility to honor that choice with the utmost care we can provide for those in our charge. And it is because of this one great widly shared choice by many, that it makes us unique, in what we do and who we are. This is what sets us apart from "the ordinary people walking down the street."
I hope this helps you with you thought, you kindly shared with us. Thank you.
