Can anyone share they're experiences with this cat ? Interested in hearing if they really are troublesome. Please include tank size, tank mates and headache level lol

Thanks

Thats interesting that even in such a large tank you noticed the dominant bolt chase the vulture

That was hardly a chase, a once or twice charge of what could be curiosity rather than anything else. They just often end up side by side positioning themselves in the most desirable locale in the tank - in the strong and smooth flow of 20,000 GPH.

Overall, my opinion is that bolts and vultures don't interact with each other any more so than with other species. I saw no evidence whatsoever of inherent or specific animosity or rivalry.

I wonder why there arent more owners of this cat. Are they seldom sold ? Or is it their size being either too big to hang with the little cats or not big enough for the big guys

I can't recall any current, active, and regular keepers either.

They are not common, rather rarely offered. I've seen them for sale only a few times in the last decade. No other reason for not having them I can think of.

Yeah i found it odd. Especially on mfk where all sorts of out of this world stuff is being kept by members
