aiptaisa anemone?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yup I had aptasia in my tank as well. I used the juice and made sure to shut off the filter/power head just incase. There is also the pepermint shrimp that will eat it as well.

they are basicly an unwanted pest that multiplies like a weed. i think they may have killed a few of my crabs.

the best fish to kill them is a copperband butterfly. 50 gal minimum. you could always get a small 1 and if it outgrows your tank bring it to lfs for them to sell.

ah that makes sense, thanks.

if they are truly pests, not knowing much else i'll go with the same way I go at pest snails, sure there are fish that eat them, none will do so fast enough so elbow grease is the only true solution.

my guess is that if they'll eat the aiptaisa anemones they'll eat other soft corals as well.
This is true. It may or may not happen, just like with people who get away with keeping angel fish in a reef tank. If there is an inclination to start picking at a coral, they will do so, and they will continue to after that.

ive managed to kill all of them but 1. ill zap that 1 tonight.. my wife is getting sick of me working on this tank...lol

Haha, yea saltwater can suck up your time when things are running like they are supposed to.

Don't forget sucking up all your money. I have at least twice what I paid for the tank already and I'm not done stocking corals yet.

Thats why I joined a local reef club and attend the frag swaps.
