I have noticed that there are air pockets in the seams of my tank. only on one side of the tank, the right front side. Its a hagen all glass 135gal tank.(72x18x24) I noticed it a couple months ago, and it looks like it might be getting worse. Is my tank slowly splitting? or is this common? any advise?
(dont mind the dither fish in the pic)

it happens after a while... i had almost the same exact tank as u (130) and it started happening on the front seams....

things like that make me crazy so in my paranoia i just emptied the tank and re-sealed it...

good luck

If it's not very big, measure and mark the tank and see if it's really expanding. If you notice any growth, reseal it. In the meantime check with the manufacturer for their recommendations.

It is quite common to see air pockets of various sizes between the glass plates and generally they do not expand. Select a few and mark both ends with a Sharpie. If, in fact, they are expanding, then the tank will have to be resealed.

Good news! I got in contact with Hagen, and after i answered a few questions they had,and emails back and forth, They said that they will be getting in contact with my LFS that i bought it from and get me a new tank! Hopefully they come threw with what they said.

Nice work! Good luck with getting the new tank

I've noticed some really small air pockets in the seems of my 55g... I wasn't sure if I just hadn't paid attention to it before or just being paranoid.

I think I'm going to do the sharpie trick, and take some digi pics. Now I'm freaked :o The tank is a year old.

I've got some like that on my 55g tank... i'm not worried about them, been that way for years.
