Dont try to shoot anything too large as I hear small pellets cant even peirce thick human skin from a far distance.
You have heard wrong. It all depends on the gun firing the pellet.

Liam, go make a potato gun. :D They're a lot of fun and cheap to make. I have one that shoots potatoes over a quarter mile and it shoots golf balls through 3/4" inch plywood.

True a potato gun would take down all the animals you want... if you hit it. :)

My pellet gun is IMHO the best you can get for the price. I got it from a Cummins Tool truck sale for $20. No real markings on it, except for the sight is in Chinese. Apparently it is a Chinese training rifle. I believe it shoots at 700+ fps but probably over 1000 because I have never experienced a pellet rifle so powerful, the thing kicks like a .22LR or more. :naughty: Cummins now sells ones that are slightly different, but for same price, so I don't know if the results are the same, but still a killer deal. All my friends have the exact same pellet rifle as me after they saw its performance. :D I can try to find it or get a pic of mine if you want, it's not a break barrel, but a single pump, which i prefer.

It looks like the pellet gun you found is a great deal though!

Funny you mention that. When I was in college I had to do an informative speech in Speech Class 101. I though hmmmm.....I bet my teacher has never heard a speech on "How to make a potato gun". So that's what I did. Anyways, my friend helped me make a video to go along with it. I joking gave examples of how a potato gun could help in everyday life. One was that it makes a great short range bird deterrent for your garden. I set up a crow decoy on a fence post. I shot at it from my hip at about 30 or so yards away and knocked it off the fence on the first try! It was a very effective deterrent! If that was a real crow it would be history. Needless to say, I got an "A" on that speech. :D
