Great looking tank! I am having trouble catching my 14" walking catfish in my 320g tank. He has started chasing some of the fish in the tank and has hurt one of my pbass (strips of missing scales). He is too fast to catch with a net (which is too small for him anyways) and I am afraid to try a bag as there are two large stingrays in the tank (don't want to get stung). I'm going to have to try getting a larger net.

I tried a bag before to move a smaller ray and it never worked for me as it was difficult to keep the bag open. How did you do it for your fish?

Sounds like an adventure for sure. The black was easiest, of course she is much smaller, I just guided her into the bag with a net. The silvers were much harder, especially since I had to double bag after the first try, which one just shot through the bag.:irked: With the silvers though they are used to being touched so I just guided them into the bag with my hand. I also had the advantage of them being in a smaller tank. Not sure the bag method will work for you, better break out the fishin'pole:ROFL:

Tank looks awesome. Congrats!

Hey Carcrazy;
I know this isn't your thread but I just wanted to give you and anybody that has a large tank and needed to get a single fish out with hardly any problems.I have done this on my 1,500 gallon tank.You just drop a fishing line with a barbles hook ! You can use your rod or do it by hand.It has work perfect everytime.The only problem is sometime all the fish want to eat the bait.

Hey, that sounds like it would work. But what if I snag one of my rays? It would be a real adventure trying to unhook them while they are thrashing about!:nilly:

Sweet ^^ the aros certainly look smaller hehehe - excellent set-up. I am still tweeking around with mines for that great look

Two options:

1. Lower the water use the separator then snag the walker with a net (if you want to preserve the life of the cat
2. Get a fishing line. get a hook. get piece of prawn. then start fishing. I used that method to remove a feeder walker that got big and competing for food (the cat's life is forfeight though - i fed mine to RTCs afterwards)

Sorry, Brian, for side tracking your thread

PS: i am still wondering how to move motoro that is getting bigger and bigger by the day (alive needed)

I used a plastic bucket to scoop out my motoro when they were about 6" across. Not sure what to do now that they are over 12". And thanks for the divider idea.

OP Sorry about derailing your thread. I'll be quiet now.

You Are The Man! I love it Brian it looks wonderful man. Now I need to come back out and see it in person! Great job well deserved.

Thanks, planning on a BBQ and having you MFKers over to show it off. Not sure when this will happen though.

Coo just let me know when and I will be there for sure! Thinking about doing another order froms Rapps if you wan to grab anything let me know. I will take care of the shipping of course. But let me know about the BBQ either way. I will call you before I make the Rapps order.

I meant to ask how the move worked out for you. So the bag method was a sketchy idea anyway. But breaking through the bag dosen't surprise me at all. These picture's just don't do them any justice those Silvers are true BEAST. You should have video taped the move so we could have laughed with you over a few cold ones. Next time I will bring the camera. I figured it was going to be a challange just because of there sheer size. All in all I think what ever you had to go through to get er done you should pat yourself on the back. The look like they didn't get banged up at all. But I am sure you had it all taking care of. Again Brian my hat's off to you man! I still look at my Silver like what was I thinking, that darn Brian got me hooked and now there is no turning back. Hahaha TTYL.
