All Glass Canopies

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The only thing I notice is that there is a plastic piece running across the bottom. It is not attatched to the glass and it is very thin. I doubt it is there to keep the tank from bowing.

If there is a center brace on the bottom frame, then there definitely was one on the top frame at one point, and it was definitely there for structural integrity no matter how thin and non structural it seems.

I'd be looking for a replacement top frame first.

I don't know but if it was me and i was worried about bracing on a tank i would be at home depot getting wood to build a fram around the whole thing. gettign mroe glass will be costly and may not get you what you need.

in fact it might just be craigslist time to grab a new tank. probabally cost you half as much as a new glass canopy.

which btw simply email the guys at www.glasscages.com and they will probabally be able to make you one.

but I would definetly check the bracing.

Im not sure im understanding you... A new glass canopy? I want to get the alll glass lid with the hinges. That seems cheapest. Buy im not sure if I should Get a 72 by 22 in lid, or cut them in half. I have no center brace to support anything so I wonder if it will bow??

Did you state that the bottom frame has a center brace?

You might try That Pet Place or GlassCages. They both can get aquarium frames.

Try your local LFS too if you have one. and by all means ....Google.

Make sure you have the measurements, as other manufacturers tops will probably fit yours.

You can also, as stated, fashion a center brace or top frame of your own using glass, plastic or wood. It all depends on the look you want and your manufacturing capabilities.
