You would think but kids these days would rather learn to play a plastic controller..

It's ashame because I have been playing guitar for as long as I have been keeping fish about 10 years now since I was 6 years old and I think Guitar Hero just puts false images on music. It makes it seem lifeless and no feeling like a hard cold feeling just like plastic. I have never played GH and never will because it demeans music. I mean sure kids are getting exposed to the music but they aren't learning what it takes to get the sounds that are being played and how much practice went into it before final recording. Music is about feeling not just how fast you can play or how much better you are than others because if you are a musician then that should mean nothing to you. The up side on GH maybe it will inspire some little kid to become the next Eddie Van Halen, Yngwie Malmsteen or any other great legend that has mastered Guitar but until I see that then GH is a downer IMO. BWB you can play it all you want if you have fun with it by all means play it. I am just voicing my opinion on tha game.

Not a Fender person myself, but the high end Strats are nice!!! I'm an Ibanez person myself, and I prefer 7-strings.

I am more of a Charvel kinda guy. I have my 67' Strat which I love to play but the Charvel Kills it in playability. I have an Ibanez m720 and the thing is a beast I love Ibanez's as well but they are just to high in treble for my liking. Les Pauls are fun but way to bassy thats why Strats and Charvel beat both hands down.

Man I think you are thinking WAY too much into Guitar Hero. It doesn't "demean" music in anyway. Its a freakin video game. It is nothing like playing guitar, and I have never heard anyone say they can play the guitar after playing guitar hero.

I don't know if it "demeans music" but it does say something about kids when they'd rather play guitar hero than learn a real instrument. Sure there are people who play both real guitar and GH. And video games these days are awesome, there is some amazing technology out. But I do wonder why someone(kids mostly) would want to play a GH video game pretending to be a rock star rather than learning to play a real guitar which has no boundrys to what you can do with it. It's a free country and lots of things about pop culture we don't understand. But just seems half-arsed to me.

I played the guitar for 7+ years, but stopped after graduating high school. I love playing Guitar Hero. Also I have a friend who is really good at the guitar and is amazing at Guitar Hero. I have seen a lot of non-music people that wouldn't play the guitar normally or have any interest in playing that love to play Guitar Hero and are pretty good.

I have never played Guitar for a passion (although I air guitar all day long) but I am 100% addicted to Guitar Hero. Its the sense in little kids that makes them feel good about themselves that they have just a little relation to a guitar.

What about the time crisis game? If I could clock the game 10x in say however many hours, does that make me a good handgun shooter?
Guitar Hero does not demean music, but I think it shows people real music. After playing GH, many children want to get a guitar and start to play.
