i just rescued a 14" savanna monitor with a serious calcium deficiency. he is unable to use any of his limbs from the elbow down and his jaw is soft. i started him on a diet of ground lean turkey heavily dusted with zoo meds calcium carbonate with d3. any help is desperately needed and appreciated. any links to good care sheets will help as well. i would like to thank all mfk'ers who post here in advance.

Love him, feed him and keep him warm.

had rocco out yesterday and thought id share the pics with ya guys. he is doing well, he is gaining strength and his jaw is hardening. he is still very weak though, it takes him about a 1/2 hour to eat 1 mouse. overall he is doing well though. thanks again for all the positive feedback.

Your doing a good job with him, what your doing with him is what we tell our patients to do with reptilals who have a bad calcium deficiency. not to mention thats what we did when my mom rescued reptilals with that issue. My turtle was like that when my mom first got her but she picked right back up after a few months.
