Sorry about the fish loss. Just saw this. Sometimes I think genetics are involved. What's really hard is when these fish have great personalities and also when they have grown up together. I cannot even think of plopping in a new fish if one died.

Sorry for the loss of your Kells.
I'm down to 4 now an Oscar tried to gut it, left a scar after that the runt would never leave it alone always battering it.
It's all calm now

An oscar attacking a kel? Really? That sounds strange. Interesting. Size difference? Although...Luther tried to eat one of my geos a few weeks ago and the oscars were right there like a pack of sharks. When it comes to food time they can be a little vicious.
