all of my fish died...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This sounds sketchy at best...numerous tanks suddenly all dieing off with no obvious equipment failure?

I would look more into it before you restock, or maybe set up a tank with some feeders or something to see if whatever killed them is still in the air or water.

It does sound fishy... no pun intended.. Sorry to hear about that.. I would be so upset if that happened to my tanks.. just weird that it was all the tanks not just one..

Oh yeah and Oscars are awesome.. definitely get another one.. :)

Wow, that is a real bummer.

Was everybody fine last night? How long has the tank been established? Any signs of parasites/disease? Any uneaten food in the tank?

It sounds like it could have been a low-oxygen situation, it's hard to tell.

I would tear down, clean, and completely re-cycle your tank before you get any new fish, just in case it was some nasty disease.
thats not it. Loaches and Bichirs are air breathers.

maybe there was a brief power cut during the night, water temp fell and it killed the fish, when u woke up in the morning by that time the temp was back to normal

I don't think so.. it would have had to get really really cold, and then the heaters kicked back on and got the tanks to normal temp.. In my experience it takes a very long time for heaters to pull a large aquariums temp up, especially from that cold.

sorry for your losses:(

i am very sorry to hear this... i would have to get to the bottom of it..since this is highly unusual way to lose them all at once.. unless electrical shock or something... i hope you find out...was it more then one tank... then i would suspect power outdage..
