All of my fish died.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
O2 loss or maybe extreme over feeding led to ammonia spikes, could kill in a day in small tank, those are some messy fish.

This is terrible to hear. I am dying to hear what action or series if actions lead to wiping out all your fish in a single day.

Here's my story on all my fancy goldfishes dead on last tank. My tank's water had been established for about 2 months. One day, I get a new water hose and I run my water to fill up the tank from 20% water change. Next day, 4 of Fancy Goldfishes die, and another 2 die next day after. I thought the tap water has too much chorine.. Now, I realize the new water hose may have some chemical in there...

Yep,you learned the hard way that most garden hoses ate not aquarium safe. They have chemicals added to them that are meant to protect them from the sun's rays.

Yeah, I use PVC hose for draining and filling my tank. 15mm? I think? Hard to measure with a leatherman. It's a bit more expensive, but it's safe for drinking water, and all the same garden hose fittings fit just fine on it. Downside is it kinks easier. I suppose you could get reinforced hose that might not kink, it's like $10-15/meter here though.

Thanks all for your concern. I'm home and only one fish is alive, my yellow parrot. Rest all fishes have passed. I have the reason why they died in a single night. My tank was populated and my father turned off the lights, and by mistake plug of air pump and filter were disconnected and loosen off. O2 cut off caused their deaths.

One reason I say timers should be considered mandatory equipment for all tanks. $5 and there wouldn't have been any need to unplugging lights and knocking other plugs loose.
