how big is the cyno????? he doin ok???

he is probly about 7". he's is definitely a bit tougher to keep happy than the others. ive had them before and they seem to do much better with just their own - for me anyway. but he is doing ok with these 2, not as aggressive or as accurate of a hunter. ive probably had him about 6 months or so now, along with the others. i call him the short bus fish.....just doesnt seem completely with the program.

first pics a tat right?

DB,you may just be the armatus whisperer. :D

What? I'm an Armatus murderer.

But they DO all have smelt in thier bellies when they die.......LMAO. Always broke by 6 inches or less.

I am gonna go ahead and throw this out there now that I have another Armatus in the freezer.........

For those of you that keep multiple Armatus together....... Does ANYONE have a batch with NO eye issues?

I firmly believe in order to keep multiple Armatus together you MUST have a HUGE tank if you want to keep them in mint condition. My batch started getting fiesty at around 6-7 inches when housed in a 180. Now that they are in the pond they appear (from what I can see) to be a lot less "high strung" or edgy.

But I also have a huge gap in sizes. The biggest one is now about 2 inches over the other 2. I believe it eliminated its competition with a quick shiv to the eye of the competition. I guess I am partially responsible for not giving them adequate room. You guys have been warned. This could happen to you if yopu attempt to keep them in a tank that they feel is too small. How YOU feel is irelavent, you may think its plenty big..... NO matter, your fish will decide if it's too small. And WHEN they do this is more than likely going to be the result. The tank MUST be huge...... I can't stress this enough.

haha.
very true and well said.

Armatus are kinda like women......

While having a whole bunch might be great fun while it lasts, and you may feel great surrounding yourself with multiple beautiful jems, enjoying each and every one of them, in the end more than likely you will be left feeling terrible after a majority of them leave you and you are left with either ONE or NONE. That is unless you house them in an enormous mansion where they NEVER see eachother.

It is best to just keep one and take great care of it.

:)

Now IF I could only find a woman I love as much as an Armatus.

But unfortunately both Armatus and women leave me within the first few years.

LOL
