Alligater gar

gators get over 6'+ in aquaria and reach 3' in there first year

but those are florida gars average about 24"

Yes alligator gar are different than Florida gar, and no they should not be in brackish. Be thankful they are not Alligators, as I doubt you would have a tank big enough for a full grown alligator gar.
 
I changed 30 gallon of water should i change more it reads 1.004 dont think i should change all of it but its not my fualt alligater gars are brackish thats what it was labled
 
How big is you tank?? Alligator gar are not brackish.
