Alligator drags Toddler in water at Disney Resort

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wonder if there are security cameras that could have captured the incident?

Ahh good point man. Now if it shows the parents off sippong drinks and the kids are just running wild then it would change my perceptions....even still i think disney is still part to blame... prior knowledge should have been enough reason to specify that gators are near

I bet there is camera footage somewhere and oh yeah,Disney is part at fault here all day long.If something happens to a guest(heck, even a tresspasser in some cases) on your property you pretty bought that.

I never (or at least don't think I ever) said that Disney wasn't partially at fault. What I do not agree with is blaming Disney 100% and absolving the parents of their responsibility in this tragedy.

Like I said earlier, where I grew up "No Swimming" means no going into the water. No wading. Not even a toe. Not even a pinky finger. Maybe it means something else in other parts of the US. I think that link to the lady is very telling, where she admitted to ignoring the signs. She mentioned the signs yet still allowed her child into the water.

You wouldn't think Disney would need extra signs, but I guess in this day and age of dodging responsibility, especially by parents, and our sue happy society, you need to be extra careful.

This is how I feel. It's irritating people just disregard signs for no reason. It's why things go to ish. One thinks it's no big deal, then another. In the case of this beach people would go from dipping their feet in the water, to towels being on the beach, to trash. Now we're going to look at ugly fences. I think those gators were part of the lure of that beach and could have and have been under control, till some morons decided they were above everyone else and go into their domain. Maybe next time I go to Disney World I'll disregard the barriers for some great photos. If I get hit by a roller coaster, I hope the same bleeding hearts support me getting compensated :/
