Under your bed
So last night I found out I am getting a Longnose Gar tonight.
It's the same Longnose that I was supossed to get when I moved into our new place. I ended up not getting him cause I turned that particular tank into a saltwater tank and my buddy was offered money from someone else.
Well I go to his house last night and low and behold there is the damn Longnose sitting in like a 40 gal tank

I asked why he had him in such a small tank and I guess the guy he sold it to had issues with the Gar eating some of his favorite fish. So he moved it to another tank with bigger fish and he was picking on the other fishing snaping at them and what not. He gave it back to my buddy who has run out of tanks and just threw him in the 40 gal. He said when he took it back he knew it was going to me.
The Longnose is about 14" long with a really long nose. I know that's what they are called, but this guy has a loooooong nose.
Anyways, his bad attitude has made his options run out. His last chance is in the big tank with my big Gator Gar.
I'm having some ppl over tonight to watch the Strikeforce card tonight on Showtime and that starts at 10 so he should be here around 9:30.
I'll have some pics tonight. Hopefully my boy doesn't destroy the Longnose, only time will tell :headbang2

you should hook me up with the longnose if it doesnt work :D and post pictures

not a good idea for combo in this case...if both fishes were smaller it MIGHT work, but you're looking at damage coming to the LNG...are you really saving it by taking it from a small tank and putting it in with a large gator?

i'd advise plans for another tank for the fish or finding someone near you who can house it. if not, then euthanizing it is more humane than returning it to your friend or letting a gator beat the crap out of it--

Quick update... Longnose is in the tank and is chasing the Gator Gar around. At first it seems like they are loving each other but now the Gator Gar seems like he's becoming anoyed. We haven't even gotten to watch the fights yet cause we're watching this action in the tank. So far kinda good, very active allot of circling. Seems like each Gar wants to swim behind the other.
Got some good pics, but they are on my girls camera, will try to post soon.

looking forward to pictures! and please hook me up if it fails!

Quick update before bed.
We watched the fights upstairs and came downstairs to find both gars laying side by side on the bottom. My girl says they love each other and my fish guy said they were checking each other out.
So far so good, will post pics in the morning.

Seems like some typical displays of dominance that gars are known for. It's good that they took a break, but I don't see a good outcome with a gator gar involved.

not a stupid question, but one that can very easily be answered by the simple use of the search tool.
