Gars will often either darken or lighten depending on the tank colours. Dark tank results in a darker gar, light tank lighter gar. Is it's current tank very light?

they will lighten no matter what and lose the spots i have never heard of a gar changing color cause of lighting.

Dude in my case the spots r dark n the rest of the body is turning pale. What temperature is suitable for them? Because I don't hve a heater in the tank.

i have never kept a gator gar just floridas. i just fish for them but i kept my gars at around 82 and grew many gars from 6in to 16in before selling them

No!! The ambience is quite dark, infact the lights are usually off in the room where I hve kept my tank.

When the lights are out my floridas colours will fade. This is not unusual. Have you tested the water at all?

Wrong. Under captive conditions gators regularly show dark colouration.
