  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
gators are pretty good climbers too-could have easily gone over the top. Still somewhat shocked the fence bent, wonder what type of metal it was made from, perhaps it was aluminum?

The megafauna of the past is really intriguing, also just getting my head around the timeframe is so difficult and humbling. One aspect i find really interesting is that we still have so many plants that developed alongside the megafauna and now their numbers are dwindling. For example giant ground sloths and joshua trees- these massive seed pods evolved to be eaten by ground sloths and to pass the seeds along.

theres a whole family of trees like that. or the caves found that were ground sloth habitats- i know they aren't crocs but still impressive.

I believe this is the actual footage of the picture you provided Krich. Aluminium, steel whatever, that is a strong gator!

I dunno...that fence was flexing and springing around as soon as the gator touched it with his snout. When the guy came over to assist the gator...good on him, by the way!...he seemed to be able to bend it further without any effort. Seems like the lightest imaginable aluminum, more of a "visible deterrent only" kind of fence.

i agree, i think anyone of us could kick this down with little effort. looked more like a carwash parting ways as it pressed through

On reflection, and after viewing that video clip again, I believe you guys are right. That fence doesn't look right. It looks quite flimsy.

In fact it doesn't even seem real, it's shaking about that much! Maybe a bit of foul play going on for the chance of getting a good video?

I don’t know man, I’ve installed fences like that. As someone mentioned earlier probably just a visual barrier. Vinyl stockades are like that too.

I agree that is one crappy fence. I've seen gators bust through screen doors and the like. But I've never seen one bend wrought iron bars. That fence looks like it was made out of recycled beers cans.

I highly doubt that that fence is wrought-iron.
